This hand-blown glass vase from my Pinnacle series, is inspired by majestic mountain peaks and our aim for something beyond our reach, something greater than ourselves. The intricate pattern comes to life using glass chips and powder, meticulously arranged to ensure consistency. The red color pattern is inspired by the raw energy of Lava, the bounty of Fruits and Vegetables as well as the crimson hues of Autumn. The thoughtful composition mirrors the natural beauty that surrounds us, adding a dynamic element, a molten horizontal band of glass chips is skillfully applied at the junction between the opaque exterior and the translucent interior. After cooling, the top of the sculptural vase is engraved using a diamond wheel, carving through the exterior to reveal the interior color and sandblasted to create the matte finish.
