This hand-blown glass vase from my Pinnacle series, is inspired by majestic mountain peaks and our aim for something beyond our reach, something greater than ourselves. The intricate pattern comes to life using glass chips and powder, meticulously arranged to ensure consistency. The Curry color pattern draws inspiration from Amber and Citrine, Quacking Aspens in Autumn as well as rich, golden Honey. The thoughtful composition mirrors the natural beauty that surrounds us, adding a dynamic element, a molten horizontal band of glass chips is skillfully applied at the junction between the opaque exterior and the translucent interior. After cooling, the top of the sculptural vase is engraved using a diamond wheel, carving through the exterior to reveal the interior color and sandblasted to create the matte finish.
