This hand-blown glass vase from my Strata series is inspired by my fascination with geology and the layers of sedimentary rock that reveal the Earth's history over time. The intricate pattern comes to life using glass chips and powder, meticulously arranged to ensure consistency. The periwinkle color pattern is inspired by the lively pops of colors in my Spring Garden and the soothing hues of the evening sky at Sunset.   The thoughtful composition mirrors the natural beauty that surrounds us, adding a dynamic element, a horizontal band of glass chips is skillfully applied through a hot wrap technique. This stripe serves as a visual anchor, enhancing the overall aesthetic of the piece. The interior of the vase features a thoughtful combination of white and clear glass, creating a luminous backdrop that enhances the brilliance of the exterior colors, a contrasting accented lip wrap adds a pop of color, creating a harmonious blend with the mesmerizing patterns. The sandblasted finish not only provides a matte texture but also accentuates the refined color palette, making this piece a true statement of elegance. This vase is an exploration of the Earth's history, where layers of glass mirror the layers of time and the enduring beauty found in the Earth's strata.
